Husband's $6K Purchase on Missing Wife's Card Raises Eyebrows

The 42-year-old estranged husband of a woman who was reported missing last month was reportedly apprehended by Wisconsin police after he used her credit cards fraudulently to purchase $6,000 worth of cleaning goods.

According to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, on June 23, a family member alerted deputies to the 37-year-old Crystal Rasch’s disappearance from her rural Clyman home.

Rasch’s stepmother reported her car to the authorities, according to Sheriff Dale J. Schmidt, after realizing it was missing from the driveway of her house.

Rasch’s stepmother was unable to contact him on her phone either. Rasch vanished from sight on June 11.

Zachariah Rasch, her estranged husband, was taken into custody by deputies on Friday after it was revealed that he had been using her credit cards fraudulently.

He is charged with eight counts of using someone else’s personal information without authorization.

“The sheriff’s office continues to investigate the disappearance of Crystal Rasch and while it remains a missing person investigation, given the information that has been discovered and made public today, we also treat this as a case in which a serious felony has likely been committed,” a press release stated.

Zachariah Rasch allegedly spent over $6,000 on cleaning materials, including carpet and drain cleaners, gloves, and other items. He allegedly also purchased a drain opener, air fresheners, and cleaners for floors and cars.

During a check of his house, police also allegedly discovered over $3,000 in cash from a dresser and his wallet.

Investigators sent texts to both of Crystal Rasch’s phones. It apparently resulted in the finding of an automobile registered in her name at the residence of a relative of her spouse.

Officers seized the vehicle to be processed. According to the affidavit, the other phone was last seen on June 8 close to Juneau, Wisconsin.

With a $250,000 bond, Zachariah Rasch is being held in the Dodge County Jail. Wednesday is when he is expected in court again.
