Hydraulic Fluid Spill and Traffic Delays Follow Overturned Vacuum Truck Incident on Military Trail

JUPITER, Fla. (DDN) – Around 3 p.m. Tuesday, fire rescue crews responded to an overturned vacuum truck blocking southbound lanes on Military Trail in Jupiter, causing rush hour traffic congestion.

Firefighters were called to the 4500 block of Military Trail in Jupiter after an overturned vacuum truck blocked multiple lanes.

According to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, the driver of the semi-truck-sized vacuum truck was unharmed and did not need to be transported to a nearby hospital.

Multiple fluids reportedly poured from the truck, however the fuel spill and runoff were contained and stopped.

However, hydraulic fluid escaped as a result of the incident, and PBCFR Special Operations is working to contain it.

PBCFR urges drivers to expect traffic delays in the region when rush hour begins.

The Jupiter Police Department will launch a crash investigation.
