I-82 TRAGEDY Redmond Woman Dies in Rollover Accident, Highway Temporarily Closed for Investigation

HERMISTON, Ore (DDN) – According to a report from the Oregon State Police on Wednesday, a woman from Redmond died in a rollover incident involving a single vehicle on Interstate 82 in Umatilla County on Friday evening.

A preliminary OSP investigation indicated that Madyson Braelyn Curtis, 20, was driving a black Chevrolet Tahoe going west on I-82 near milepost 8 when it exited the roadway for an unexplained cause.

Troopers claimed the vehicle rolled numerous times and eventually came to a rest in the freeway’s median.

Curtis was ejected from the SUV and killed at the scene of the accident.

The highway was affected for approximately 30 minutes as the OSP’s Collision Reconstruction Unit conducted its investigation at the scene.

The Hermiston Fire Department and ODOT assisted OSP.
