Penaluna, previously convicted of similar offenses and wanted on a federal warrant, was reportedly on the run after leaving a rehabilitation program. Taylor, who was on California State Parole, was also implicated. Detectives discovered that Penaluna used two vehicles in the alleged crimes, one of which was purchased using a stolen identity.

With support from U.S. Marshals, detectives apprehended the pair at a Vallejo hotel on Monday. Inside the room, authorities found stolen mail, checks, identity documents, blank check stock, and card printers, as well as the firearm and narcotics. This evidence confirmed the scope of their activities.

Penaluna now faces multiple charges, including possession of stolen property, burglary, and grand theft auto, while Taylor faces charges of possession of stolen property, burglary, and other related offenses.
