An inmate, aged 72, died yesterday after facing a medical emergency at the Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center. As reported by theSacramento County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook, the man collapsed in the medical area of the facility and was found near the Joseph Kievernagel Facility.

Deputies responded immediately to the scene, attempting life-saving measures before the Cosumnes Fire Department arrived. Despite the swift response, the inmate was pronounced dead.
