Jackknifed Big-Rig Causes Major Delays on Bay Bridge, Minor Injuries for Driver

A big-rig tractor-trailer jackknifed across the roadway this morning, causing a major wait for commuters heading east on the Bay Bridge. Four eastbound lanes were blocked as a result of the tractor-trailer facing the other way after the collision.

According to the same social media post from CHP San Francisco, the driver was sent to a nearby hospital for preventative care after suffering minor injuries in the collision. After the incident, the CHP projected an ETO (Expected Time of Opening) of 60 to 75 minutes, however that estimate was later revised to 30 to 60 minutes. Drivers were urged to use caution and, if feasible, look for other routes during a rainy morning commute.
