A young suspect has been taken into custody in relation to a murder that shocked the New Orleans community last month. A 15-year-old black male suspect who is suspected of being engaged in the deadly shooting that occurred on the evening of October 7 was taken into custody by the New Orleans Police Department in collaboration with the U.S. Marshals.
Officers from the New Orleans Police Department’s Seventh District initially responded to the scene at the 5100 block of Bundy Road after receiving a call at approximately 8:46 p.m. They discovered another male victim, a 15-year-old, who had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect was taken into custody on Monday and is being charged with second-degree murder at the Juvenile Justice Intervention Center, despite the fact that everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
As detectives from the New Orleans Police Department’s Homicide Section pieced together evidence from the October homicide, officers actively working on the case were able to identify the teenage suspect after extensive investigative efforts. The arrest warrant for the minor was carried out without incident.
