Drivers in Kālaheo should prepare for disruptions as a key segment of Pu‘u Road is set to close for over a month. According to a recent announcement from the Department of Public Works and Ka‘iwa Construction, the stretch between Silva Tract Road and Pu‘u Kulana Place will be inaccessible on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., starting on Monday through December 20, weather permitting.

, the closure is due to infrastructure upgrades, including the installation of a new water service lateral and fire hydrant. The lane closure between Papalina Road and Hokua Road will cause delays, and motorists are advised to use alternate routes and allow extra time for their commute.
