In relation to a gunshot death that took place in Kalamazoo over the weekend, a suspect has been charged.According to FOX17, two people were discovered with gunshot wounds following the event, which happened last Saturday evening. Shondale Devos Kellumn, a 32-year-old Kalamazoo resident, was one of the victims who passed away from his wounds.

According to WOODTV’s report of the arraignment on Wednesday, 43-year-old Jasper Hopkins was charged with open murder, assault with intent to murder, and many firearms-related felonies. Hopkins, a Kalamazoo resident, was not granted bail. According to the officials, these incidents took place around Portage Street and E Stockbridge Avenue.

According to MLive, the preliminary examination to ascertain whether there is sufficient evidence to move forward with a trial is set for December 4 at 1:30 p.m. Judge Christopher T. Haenicke of the District Court will conduct this examination. A 33-year-old Kalamazoo man who was the second shooting victim has been discharged from the hospital.
