A shelter-in-place order was issued Thursday after police received information about a person with outstanding warrants near Lincolnshire Way and Crestmont Way, escalating tensions in a Kaysville community. According to FOX13, the Kaysville Police Department stressed that there was no immediate threat to the general public while warning the public about the situation.
Nevertheless, after the man disregarded police orders to leave the house and broke a protection order, the situation worsened and the SWAT team was called in immediately. According to KUTV, the suspect was still confined within the ex-spouse’s house despite the presence of the specialized reaction team.
Police negotiators were unable to verify whether the man was armed, which further complicated the standoff and raised concerns about his readiness to surrender.
