Kea‘au Couple Arrested in Hawai’i Puna District Man Faces Charges for Firearms and Drugs

With the weapon in plain view, police took further action. George-David Summers from Waimea, who was driving, faced multiple charges, including drug and firearms offenses. A search of the vehicle revealed a .22 caliber semi-automatic rifle, methamphetamine, smoking pipes, ammunition, and other items, leading to legal proceedings against him.

Summers was unable to post the $173,000 bail following the charges, which incorporated offenses related to the keeping and carrying of loaded firearms as well as drug promotion as outlined by the

. After his arrest, he made an initial appearance in South Hilo District Court on Tuesday.
