Kentwood Shooting Leaves Man Hospitalized, Police Say Alcohol May Have Been a Factor

According to the Kentwood Police Department, a man who was shot in Kentwood late on Saturday is anticipated to make a full recovery from his injuries.

At around 10:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to Heyboer Avenue SE, which is located close to Andover Street SE, in response to a report that a male had been shot in the leg.

According to the police, officers first rendered medical assistance to the individual upon their arrival, and then they transported him to the hospital for additional treatment.

As of Sunday, it appears that alcohol had a role in the shooting, and the authorities responding to the incident are receiving some cooperation from all parties involved.

“Officers and Detectives have been able to speak with all parties involved in the situation and there is no threat to the public or outstanding persons for this incident,” according to law enforcement officials.
