A 25-year-old Kyle man, John Albiter, faces multiple charges including sexual assault and injury to a child, following an alleged break-in and attack on his ex-girlfriend and her 7-year-old child in July of this year. Kyle Police apprehended Albiter after gathering evidence that disputed his initial claim of not having visited the victim’s residence.
The incident, which authorities outlined as involving a break-in, followed by the sexual assault of the woman and physical harm to both her and her child, took place on July 8. Albiter was initially taken into custody for “assault family violence” – impeding breath, a form of strangulation. , the arrest warrant, which was issued earlier this week, not only included charges for the initial assault, but also for burglary of habitation with intent to commit another felony, injury to a child, and harassment. Albiter’s arrest took place at the 300 block of North Meyer Street following the issuance of this warrant.

, Kyle Police Chief Jeff Barnett expressed his gratitude for the diligent investigation, “We are thankful for the thorough investigative work done by our officers and detectives in this case.” He also affirmed the department’s stance on violence, “We take all forms of violence very serious, and we are committed to holding individuals accountable for their actions to keep our community members safe.”
