LAPD Seeks Public Help to Identify Suspect in Daytime Hollywood Boulevard Shooting

After a lunchtime shooting incident in Hollywood last month that included a woman riding a scooter, a hunt is still underway for a suspect. The gunshot happened on October 15 at approximately noon close to Hollywood Boulevard and Western Avenue, according to KTLA.

The suspect, according to the Los Angeles Police Department, “initiated an argument” that swiftly got out of hand while he was attempting to flee. According to KTLA, he fired a semi-automatic weapon at the victim several times, hitting her before he left the scene and headed south on Western Avenue. Thankfully, the woman lived through her injuries, which were deemed non-life-threatening.

Photographs of the individual suspected of carrying out the shooting were taken by a spectator. The LAPD is disseminating the photos in the hopes that the public will have useful information to help identify the culprit. According to the description, the suspect is a Hispanic man who is between five feet five and five feet eight feet tall, has brown eyes and black hair, weighs between 130 and 160 pounds, and appears to be between twenty and twenty-five years old.

According to LAPD, anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to contact Detective Greg Papik at Hollywood Division by calling (213) 972-2971. The public can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-information (800-222-8477) for anonymous information; however, calls should be routed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (1-877-527-3247) on weekends or outside of regular business hours.
