Las Vegas Aces Strengthen Coaching Team, Welcoming Ty Ellis as New Assistant Coach

The Las Vegas Aces are beefing up their coaching roster with a new addition: Ty Ellis. The team announced that Ellis, who has an extensive background in basketball coaching, including a stint with USA Basketball, will be joining the Aces as an assistant coach. This news comes in the wake of some significant departures from Becky Hammon’s team, as two top assistants have moved on to head coaching positions elsewhere in the WNBA.

Ellis’ experience includes roles as an assistant coach for USA Basketball’s men’s teams and as head coach of the G League’s Stockton Kings. Notably, he was part of the 2017 gold medal-winning USA AmeriCup Team. Hammon seems to keenly anticipate his contributions, saying, “I’m super excited to add Ty Ellis to our coaching staff,” as noted by

With top assistants Natalie Nakase and Tyler Marsh now heading the Golden State Valkyries and Chicago Sky, respectively, the Aces are in a period of adjustment, also seeking a new general manager after not renewing the contract of Natalie Williams. As reported by
