On Tuesday, Assistant Sheriff Dori Koren gave information regarding a shooting that involved an officer. Following several reports of gunfire, officers, including Officer Alexander Bookman, arrived at the 6900 block of Wine River Drive. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the homeowner, 43-year-old Brandon Durham, called the police to report that someone had broken into his house and that he was hiding in the toilet.
Officers arrived to discover the house damaged and to hear screaming coming from within. After forcing admission, Officer Bookman found Durham and 31-year-old Alejandra Boudreaux fumbling with a knife. Durham was fatally struck by Bookman’s bullet.
