PORTLAND, Ore. (DDN) – Four individuals were hospitalized after a two-car incident on the I-5 Bridge late Friday night, which momentarily stopped traffic lanes, according to officials.
Just before midnight, Vancouver firefighters rushed to the I-5 Bridge’s southbound lanes after receiving reports of a motor vehicle crash.
Arriving firefighters discovered two cars involved in a collision, with individuals trapped inside both vehicles.
Police halted all southbound lanes of the bridge for 45 minutes while officers and firefighters worked to extract the passengers.
According to authorities, four persons were sent by ambulance to the hospital with critical injuries.
The Washington State Patrol is presently investigating the cause of the crash.
