A tragic incident unfolded on Wednesday afternoon on Braddock Road in Jacksonville, when a lawncare worker was struck and killed by a vehicle driven by a teenager. According to the

, the victim, a man in his early 20s, was at the time edging the sidewalk on the west side of the 11600 block of Braddock Road when the fatal accident occurred at around 2:50 p.m.

Details provided by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office indicated that the Jeep driver, a mid-teen lost control of his vehicle, veered off the road, and then struck the lawncare worker. The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department responded to the scene, where they pronounced the man deceased. The teen driver, who has reportedly stopped at the accident site and is cooperating with the investigation, appears to be either 15 or 16 years of age.
