We looked at the rates of violent and property crimes for every location with more than 2,000 residents. We studied a total of 22 cities in North Dakota. These are the results of our analysis:

Method to Determine the Most Dangerous Cities in North Dakota
The FBI releases two crime datasets on cities in North Dakota every year. Initially, a dataset will be created that only includes the largest cities in North Dakota. Later in the year, a more comprehensive dataset will be released.
We analyzed the data from the 2022 Crime In The United States Report for North Dakota.
What criteria did we use? Take a look at this:
- Violent Crimes Per Capita
- Property Crimes Per Capita
To ensure a fair comparison, we only looked at cities in North Dakota with a population of over 2,000. We were left with 22 cities in North Dakota.
We ranked each city from 1 to 22 based on two criteria. A #1 ranking means the city is considered the most dangerous for that specific criteria. Afterwards, we combined the two rankings to create a single “Dangerous Index”.
After evaluating all the cities, we determined their rankings based on the “Dangerous Index.” The city with the lowest index, Fargo, is considered the most dangerous in North Dakota. If there were any ties, they were awarded to the smaller city.
