Lewisville residents are being given the chance to shape their city’s future, specifically when allocating funds for social services. As part of the 2024-25 program year planning, the Community Grants Division is opening the floor for public discussion. If you’ve got an opinion on where the funding should be directed—healthcare, senior services, or support for abuse victims—now’s the time to be heard.
The conversations will unfold at two upcoming Community Conversations hosted by the division. The first meeting will occur on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. within the embracing walls of the Lewisville Grand Theater at 100 N. Charles Street. Following that, a second dialogue is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 12, also at 6:30 p.m., but this time at the Thrive Recreation Center on 1950 S. Valley Parkway.
The CDBG Advisory Committee, which sets funding priorities, will consult the city’s populace for guidance. With past projects ranging from homebuyer grants to necessary street and sidewalk improvements, CDBG grants represent a vital resource for the community’s growth.
