Lewisville Hosts Free Workshop to Educate Residents on Home and Community Grants

On December 17, Lewisville Neighborhood Services held a free session at the Lewisville Grand Theater to help residents interested in improving their homes and community learn about several funding opportunities. The event, which begins at 6:30 p.m., provides an opportunity to learn about and interact with the procedures that access the city’s grant programs. The city’s programs include the Neighborhood Enhancement Program, the Love Your Block initiative, and the Property Enhancement Program. These are all a part of the larger vision called Lewisville 2025, which aims to create “Diverse and Thriving Neighborhoods.” The full vision can be viewed on the City of Lewisville website.

In addition to revealing additional countywide resources, the session is expected to assist applicants with the application process. The Property Enhancement Program is available to all qualified applicants and provides a matching grant rebate for exterior property repairs. On the other hand, some projects may be approved for a matching grant of up to 50 percent. A $500 reimbursable mini-grant is given to locals as part of Love Your Block, which promotes neighborhood projects like communal gardening areas or miniature libraries. This fund is available all year round.

The Neighborhood Enhancement Program, which provides matching grants up to $12,500, is an additional choice for residents. This can assist neighborhood organizations in funding initiatives that will make the community more appealing and cohesive, such as enhancing local parks, establishing emergency response teams, or installing entry features and sign toppers.
