Residents of Lewisville now have an eco-friendly option for disposing of used cooking oil and grease after the holiday feasts as the city joins the 11th annual North Texas Holiday Grease Roundup. In efforts to prevent sewage problems exacerbated by the fats, oils, and grease typically washed down drains during holiday cooking, locals are encouraged to bring their waste to the Residential Convenience Center at 330 Jones Street, available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., starting Nov. 18 through Jan. 10, according to the

Traditional Thanksgiving foods, like fried turkey and rich buttery dishes, can clog the city’s pipes. These blockages can disrupt wastewater flow, leading to overflows and expensive repairs.
