Lightning Strike Ignites Blaze in Benbrook Home, Unified Fire Departments Battle to Save Majority of Structure

A Benbrook home was ravaged by a fire sparked by what is believed to be a lightning strike, as confirmed by the Benbrook Fire Department. The incident occurred around noon on Sunday, and the flames were severe enough to break through the structure’s roof, drawing the attention of a concerned passerby who reported the sight, according to the Benbrook Fire Department.

The response from the Cresson Fire Department was swift, clocking in just over five minutes after the alarm was raised, when firefighters arrived they were met with a ferocious tableau of fire that had already chewed a path through the home’s upper reaches.

Efforts to combat the blistering inferno were not solely Cresson’s burden, as the collaborative firefighting forces swelled to 19 from Cresson complimented by three from Benbrook and another four from Godley, according to the post.
