The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office recently apprehended Edgar Perez Medina, a 35-year-old Livingston resident, on charges related to the kidnapping and sexual assault of a minor. According to theStanislaus County Sheriff’s Officereport, the Special Victims Unit initiated the investigation last Tuesday, following a report of the incident occurring on November 9. Detectives found that Medina allegedly lured the 16-year-old victim through a fabricated social media profile, posing as an 18-year-old, to a location in South Stanislaus County.

Medina met with the minor near her home and forced her into his car, driving her to an orchard where the assault took place. Following his arrest, Medina was arraigned last Friday and his bail was set at a steep $4.8 million. The Sheriff s Office is seeking any additional information related to the incident and encourages individuals to contact them at (209) 525-7114.
