In the early hours in Battle Creek, a residential fire broke out. The local fire department quickly responded and rescued a dog from the blaze. Firefighting teams were dispatched to the scene after receiving the emergency call. The homeowner, who was already safely outside when crews arrived, informed them that the fire was located in a second-floor bedroom and expressed concern for his dog still inside the house. The Battle Creek Fire Department believes that the fire started due to unattended candles. In an early estimate, the department considers there to be approximately $15,000 in property damage, asWWMT Newsnoted.
