DDN: A local furniture designer is being charged with theft after Allegheny County customers say she stole thousands of dollars from them.
The latest report from the district attorney’s office says she robbed a customer of $45,000. It looks like there are several deaths spread out across Allegheny County.
“Instead of answering that day or the next, it had been a week.” Two weeks. “Oh no, those things are back-ordered,” Brandon Mahler said.
Mahler talked to Channel 11 over Zoom about the time he first had doubts about the interior designer he and his wife hired in 2022.
“Two lamps and a rug that we kept showed up.” After that, nothing else. After a while, the weeks turned into months, Mahler said.
Lauren Piasecki, the proprietor of Black Cherry Designs, is reportedly the designer, according to the police.
She is being accused of fraud by a number of individuals because they claim that they paid her to beautify their home, but she never came through with the job and she never paid them back.
It is alleged by Mahler that she owes him more than $13,000. She allegedly stole $160,000 from another couple, according to the cops.
According to the police, she sent an email to one of her customers in which she stated, “It is evident that she has not respected the commitments and promises that she made to you.”
It is not typical to conduct business in this manner, and I do not believe that it is acceptable either.

On the other hand, according to the police, the customer has not yet been collected.
She allegedly spent a significant amount of this money on activities such as going out to bars and restaurants, hailing an Uber, and shopping on Amazon, according to the police.
