The HFD recently posted information about their response to a distress call on Tuesday on their official website. At 4:09 p.m., HFD received the call and promptly sent five units, each with 13 personnel, to the site.

By 4:16 p.m., the first responders had reached the scene and were preparing a landing area for air support. The use of Air 1 in the mission was essential to getting to the stranded hiker. Despite the difficulties encountered when traversing the perilous terrain of Oahu’s mountain paths, the hiker was safely identified around 5:10 p.m., and a medical evaluation was swiftly carried out. It was discovered that the person had not been hurt during the experience.

The hiker was trying to descend the trail when they became confused and couldn’t continue on their own, according to the HFD’s statement. By 5:14 p.m., the hiker was safely returned to the landing area via Air 1. This marked the end of the rescue effort.
