Maakaron: Detroit Lions Mock Draft

There are only three days to Day 1 of the 2021 NFL Draft on Thursday April 29th in Cleveland, Ohio.

Brad Holmes and the Detroit Lions have a total of six tips and did not announce their plans until an important blueprint for the future of the organization was made.

“I still think depth is paramount on either side of the ball. I know you can probably take that as a fence answer, but I can’t be more authentic, “said Holmes at his pre-draft media session. I don’t think there is ever enough depth to catch in certain places.”

Here is my final draft which is meant to predict which players the organization will add to this year’s draft class.

First round, # 7 overall: Oregon OT Penei Sewell

Despite being rejected in 2020, Sewell is widely considered to be the best lineman on this year’s draft.

In 2019, he finished as the highest-rated offensive lineman in the nation and in Pro Football Focus history with an overall grade of 95.5.

He only allowed a sack of 1,376 snaps in two seasons with the ducks. His presence on Detroit’s offensive line instantly improves both running and passing play.

Sewell’s selection will make Detroit’s offensive line a success for many years to come.
