FORT WORTH (DDN) – On Tuesday, I-30 near East Loop 820 was stopped for 8 hours due to a crash involving two 18-wheelers.
The incident occurred shortly after 6 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-30 between East Loop 820 and Cooks Lane. By 7 a.m., traffic was backed up for approximately five kilometers.
Traffic was diverted off East Loop 820 until the accident area was cleared. Some drivers driving from Fort Worth to Arlington and Dallas experienced delays of more than an hour. Traffic resumed at about 2 p.m.
A CBS News Texas camera on the scene captured the two 18-wheelers in the median with front-end damage. They appeared to be carrying gravel.
The drivers’ and passengers’ conditions were unknown, although CareFlite transported at least one person to a local hospital.
