the incident occurred near Highway 20 SE and Kay Terrace with deputies responding at about 6:45 a.m.; they discovered a 30-year-old woman and three children at the scene, but Elmore had fled.

The argument began while the group was traveling by car and became intense, Elmore allegedly attacked the woman after stopping the vehicle, and in the ensuing conflict, she shot him,

reported. After the shooting, he drove away, abandoning the woman and the children alongside the road but authorities managed to locate and arrest Elmore at his mother’s house in Ellenwood.

Elmore was subsequently taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries; following his release, he will be under the custody of the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office as the investigation continues.
