Maricopa County Teenager Sentenced to 31 Years for Second-Degree Murder and Aggravated Assault

For a violent and deceptive crime, a youngster from Maricopa County received a hefty term. Guillermo Amador III, who is currently 19 years old, pleaded guilty to charges of second-degree murder and aggravated assault in connection with a cocaine heist gone horribly wrong and was given a sentence of 31 years in prison. The sentencing was announced by the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.

County Attorney Rachel Mitchell’s formal statement claims that on December 5, 2022, Amador created a phony Instagram account to entice Dallas Massaro to a remote location under the guise of a marijuana and THC vape transaction. Following negotiations with Massaro, Amador suddenly pulled the trigger, murdering Emilie Gomez and seriously injuring Dallas Massaro before making off with a bag of narcotics. “This case is a clear example of the rise we have seen throughout our county where youth are participating in extreme acts of violence,” according to a statement that Maricopa County was able to collect.

Amador entered a guilty plea to the charges, which include one count of dangerously categorized second-degree murder and one count of aggravated assault, both of which are Class Three felonies. Amador’s acts on that sad day, which have permanently altered the lives of the victims’ families, are reflected in the seriousness of these allegations.

Amador’s sentence, which entails a three-decade prison term, has a lasting impact on the discourse surrounding juvenile misbehavior and violence. “The defendant was 17 years old at the time of this murder, and for this horrific crime, he will spend decades in prison,” the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office stated.Mitchell said
