A Marysville man, identified as 27-year-old Angel Zavala, received an 11-year prison sentence for threats made against a local female police officer. According to the

I’m going to fuck you up.” He claimed to know the officer’s car and included graphic threats of violence. The victim testified that these threats left her deeply disturbed, prompting her to move.

During the trial, Zavala’s defense claimed insanity at the time of the offense. However, despite the testimony of multiple doctors, Judge Scrogin concluded that Zavala was legally sane when committing the threats.
