Maui’s public pools are temporarily closing for cleaning and recruitment activities, as announced by the County of Maui Department of Parks and Recreation. The Kīhei Aquatic Center training pool and the Kōkua Pool in Kahului will undergo cleaning starting on Sunday next week. During this time, the Kīhei 50-meter pool will remain open for swimming. The Coach Soichi Sakamoto Pool in Wailuku will be closed to the public from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday, for swim testing as part of pool guard recruitment. After the testing, the pool will reopen from noon to 4 p.m. for lap and recreational swimming.
