Metropolitan Police Seek Public’s Help to Find Kitten Stolen in Southeast D.C. Burglary, $1,000 Reward Offered

In an effort to find a kitten that was stolen during a break-in at a residence in the Southeast, the Metropolitan Police Department is asking the public for assistance. The small cat was among the things taken when suspects broke into a house on the 2400 block of 15th Place, Southeast, late last week, according to an MPD statement.

The event occurred on November 15 at approximately 6:35 p.m., when the burglars broke into the house, seized the kitten and other belongings, and then ran away. The MPD has yet to provide a description of the suspects, explain how the criminals entered the locked house, or specify the precise items that were taken with the kitten.

A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered by the MPD in an attempt to recover the stolen kitten and punish the burglars responsible. Anyone who can give information that results in the arrest and indictment of the burglary’s perpetrators is eligible to receive this reward. In its statement, the department underlined how crucial community support is to these investigations and how local information and tips may help solve these kinds of instances.

People in the community are urged to come forward if they saw the kitten or know anything about this occurrence. Authorities have recommended witnesses to call the police right away rather than approach the animal or try to rescue it on their own. Tips can be given by text to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411, or by phone to (202) 727-9099; the MPD has emphasized that even the tiniest piece of information could be vital to their work.
