The Miami-Dade Police Department has arrested a man who is suspected of committing several voyeuristic crimes. Yoel Antonio Setien Martinez, 26, was arrested yesterday evening after he was seen squatting in bushes and looking inside a house in Southwest Miami-Dade’s Country Walk neighborhood.
The General Investigations Unit of the MDPD Hammocks District had been receiving and handling numerous reports about burglary and peeping tom events in the neighborhood for a number of months. When detectives caught Martinez performing the deed, they made a breakthrough. Martinez admitted to visiting the backyards of several victims, peeping through their windows, and committing indecent activities after being informed of his Miranda rights, according to the department’s release.
Martinez has been charged with a number of counts, including voyeurism, indecent exposure, burglary of an occupied house, and nonviolently resisting an officer. According to the Miami-Dade Police Department, the event happened close to the intersection of SW 152nd Street and SW 142nd Avenue.
