Miami Man, Kevin Paul Prater, Arrested After High-Speed Chase Leads to Collisions

Following a spectacular series of events that included a high-speed chase around the city, Miami law enforcement officials have arrested Kevin Paul Prater, a man facing many counts. The Miami-Dade Police Department claims that Prater used risky tactics to evade arrest, endangering both citizens and law police.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Miami-Dade Police, who were monitoring Prater’s automobile, acted quickly after seeing him get inside. The pursuit began when Prater sped off, thwarting their attempts to stop him using regular police protocols. An MDPD statement claims that the department’s Aviation Unit was instrumental in locating the offender, who had escaped from ground-based officers.

According to reports, the chase ended around SW 72nd Avenue and SW 41st Street after several crashes caused by Prater’s desperate attempt to elude the police. According to the MDPD, Prater kept trying to get past the surrounding police, which resulted to several collisions with both civilian and police vehicles. After the crashes, he was finally apprehended by cops.

Prater is now facing serious charges for his acts, including reckless driving, running and evading law officers, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The white male offender, who was born on March 8, 1983, needed medical assistance after suffering injuries during the encounter. According to the MDPD press release, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue took him to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital.

The case is still ongoing as the police complete their investigation, and Mr. Prater is still in custody.
