Michigan Driver Charged After Head-on Crash in Lorain County Kills Medina Man

CLEVELAND (DDN) – A Michigan driver has been charged with vehicular murder following a two-car incident in Lorain County on Saturday that killed a Medina man, according to state troopers.

According to an Ohio State Highway Patrol press release, the incident occurred on State Route 18 at Quarry Road in Brighton Township.

Jules Tussaint, a 25-year-old from Royal Oak, Mich., was driving a 2023 Dodge Charger eastbound on SR-18 while a 2005 Toyota Corolla was traveling westbound.

According to troopers, Tussaint’s car “failed to maintain control, traveled left of center” and collided head-on with the Toyota driven by 69-year-old Robert Bilbrey.

Bilbrey was unresponsive when troopers arrived on the scene of the incident. EMS and fire workers attempted lifesaving techniques, but the Medina man was pronounced dead shortly after.

According to the highway patrol, Tussaint and a passenger in his car were treated and released from the site after suffering “possible injuries.”

Toussaint was charged at Oberlin Municipal Court.

The OSHP stated that both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident. Troopers said drugs and alcohol did not appear to be involved.
