(CBS DETROIT) After more than 1.5 pounds of methamphetamine were discovered in his house last week, an 80-year-old Paw Paw man was taken into custody on narcotics trafficking charges.
After purchasing methamphetamine from the man multiple times, narcotics detectives from the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office carried out a search warrant at his residence in Almena Township on November 27, according to authorities.
Detectives discovered the man in his garage when they got there. Detectives searched the garage and discovered smoking apparatus, scales, and a tiny amount of methamphetamine.
The man admitted to authorities that there was a significant quantity of methamphetamine in the basement of the house. Deputies discovered an extra 1.6 pounds of methamphetamine there. Inside the house, deputies also discovered other firearms.
The man told deputies that he was involved in drug trafficking.
The Van Buren County Prosecutor’s Office is anticipated to receive a report regarding potential charges.
