(CBS DETROIT)The “suspicious shooting death” of an 18-year-old woman in Macomb County late on Wednesday night is being looked into by Michigan State Police.

Around 10:55 p.m. on Wednesday, troopers were called to the 75000 block of Mackey Road in Richmond Township in reference to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Troops discovered the woman deceased when they got to the house.

While questioning the woman’s 17-year-old boyfriend, troopers discovered that he was the one who dialed 911. Authorities claim that the events leading up to the shooting were inconsistent.

Detectives are interviewing witnesses and obtaining evidence.

The inquiry is still ongoing and is awaiting the results of a medical examiner; no arrests have been made.
