Things take a turn come Monday as rain is likely post-noon, casting increasing clouds over the city and a high near 52 degrees. “Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible,” elaborates theNational Weather Service. Winds pick up yet again, with southeast gusts reaching up to 25 mph, escalating the likelihood of a wet start to the week.
Heavy rain dominates Monday night’s forecast with certainty, as the chance of precipitation hits 100% and potentially delivers new precipitation amounts between three quarters and one inch. The gusty conditions persist into Tuesday with east winds around 15 mph that will swing west in the afternoon, possibly reaching 35 mph.
A hazardous weather outlook has also been issued by theNWS Twin Cities/Chanhassen MN, warning of breezy conditions today with wind gusts that could hit 40 mph. Fortunately, the outlook indicates a respite from dangerous weather phenomena in the days two through seven, with no hazardous weather expected at this time.
As for spotter activation, theNational Weather Serviceconfirms, “SKYWARN spotter activation will not be needed.” As the week progresses, the forecast anticipates a 20 to 40 percent chance of rain Wednesday through Wednesday night, but clearer skies appear likely by Friday with highs hovering around the 37-degree mark.
