A 28-year-old Mohave County school employee named Allen Ray Long was taken into custody on Tuesday in relation to an investigation into child sexual exploitation. The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office claims that the investigation into Long’s actions began in September 2024 when one of Long’s devices was confiscated, as reported by Fox10 Phoenix.
Authorities found pictures on the device in issue that were deemed to be child sexual abuse material throughout the investigation. Long was brought into arrest right away after the preliminary findings. As the investigation progresses, police are working with the Kingman Unified School District, where Long was employed at the time, to see whether any of the juveniles that were photographed have any local ties, as the 12News article details.
According to a phone interview with school superintendent Dr. Gretchen Dorner that Fox10 Phoenix was able to obtain, Long taught at Cerbat Elementary School in the Kingman Unified School District. Long joined the school in 2020 and had only started this year. This information was made public during the investigation. Dr. Dorner quickly fired Long after learning of his arrest, claiming that he had cleared a universal background check when he was hired.
Long’s educational history was further enhanced by a remark on Mount Tipton Elementary School’s Facebook page revealing that he had taught there for four years prior to his time at Cerbat. While the charges were shocking, a letter sent to parents and obtained by Fox10 Phoenix made it plain that Long is no longer affiliated with the school district because of “serious allegations of criminal wrongdoing,” albeit it did not elaborate on the specifics of the accusations.
Long’s case is still pending; he is charged with sexually exploiting a youngster. To identify potential victims and ascertain the entire scope of his alleged crimes, the local police and school district are collaborating.
