We analyzed the rates of violent and property crimes per person in all locations with more than 5,000 residents. We analyzed a total of 73 cities in New Hampshire. These are the findings from our analysis:

Method to determine the most dangerous cities in New Hampshire

The FBI releases two crime datasets on cities in New Hampshire every year. First, there will be a preliminary dataset that only includes the largest cities in New Hampshire. This will be followed by a more detailed release at the end of the year.

We analyzed the 2022 Crime In The United States Report for New Hampshire to gather information.

  • Property Crimes Per Capita

To ensure a fair comparison, we only looked at cities in New Hampshire with a population of over 5,000. We were left with a total of 73 cities in New Hampshire.

We assigned a ranking from 1 to 73 to each city based on two criteria. A #1 ranking indicates that the city is considered the most dangerous for that specific criteria.

Afterwards, we combined the two rankings to create a single “Dangerous Index”.

After evaluating all the cities in New Hampshire, we determined their level of danger using the “Dangerous Index”. The city with the lowest index, Manchester, is considered the most dangerous. If there were any ties, they were awarded to the smaller city.
