MPD Seeks Information on Suspect in Fatal Hit-and-Run on Florida Avenue

Authorities are on the hunt for a driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run accident occurring last week in Northwest Washington. The

Metropolitan Police Department

confirmed the incident took place on Sunday, when Brianna Anderson, 40, described as being of no fixed address, she was found in a wheelchair attempting to cross the intersection of 8th Street and Florida Avenue—though not within the designated pedestrian crosswalk.

Reportedly, a black sedan was seen traveling eastbound on the 800 block of Florida Avenue when it collided with Anderson. The vehicle did not remain at the scene post-impact. Emergency responders later transported Anderson to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to
