MSU Science Gallery Detroit and MSU Broad Art Museum put on virtual event to help people navigate grief

LANSING, Michigan (WILX) – Michigan State University’s Science Gallery Detroit and MSU Broad Art Museum are hosting a virtual conference to address an important issue: grief.

Mourning in the midst of the pandemic has not been easy for many people.

Because everyone’s approach to grief is different, the Science of Grief event examines death rituals practiced around the world and how some have changed due to the coronavirus pandemic. In a way, it will help people either to look at death differently or to come to terms with death.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, some people were not allowed to go to hospitals and visit their loved ones in their final days. Some traditional funeral services could not be performed due to capacity constraints.

The science of grief begins Saturday, March 20th at 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The event will be opened with a panel discussion.
