In the battle against drug trafficking in the Tenderloin District, the San Francisco Police Department and a number of partner agencies have made a noteworthy arrest. The San Francisco Police Department said that after an investigation and a subsequent foot chase on Wednesday, a suspect, Kerlin Salgado-Ferrera, was taken into jail.
Together, the SFPD Narcotics Unit, the San Francisco Sheriff’s Office, the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), and the Army National Guard collected sufficient evidence over the course of October to get a search warrant for Salgado-Ferrera’s car and property. Officers in Lower Nob Hill saw Salgado-Ferrera throwing away what they believed to be drugs, and he was subsequently caught. When police searched his car and his Oakland home on the 1000 block of MacArthur Boulevard, they found a stash of drugs, including heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, suspected fentanyl pills, and more than $6,000 in cash.
