Multi-Vehicle Crash in El Monte Leaves One Dead on Fiery Crash Site, Cause Under Investigation

EL MONTE, Cali. (DDN) – Officials revealed that one individual was killed in a horrific multi-vehicle crash in El Monte on Sunday.

Officers from the Arcadia Police Department responded to reports of a fatal collision at the intersection of Lower Azusa Road and Dufree Avenue shortly before 3 p.m.

Officials claim that when officers arrived, they discovered the implicated vehicles blocking traffic in the area. First responders concluded, with the assistance of medical personnel from the Arcadia Fire Department, that the driver of one of the automobiles died on the site as a result of his injuries.

Authorities did not disclose how many vehicles were involved in the accident, or if any other drivers or passengers were hurt.

Footage of the incident provided to the Citizen App showed extensive damage to what appeared to be two automobiles, with emergency responders treating at least one patient just around the corner on Dufree Avenue from the crash site.

Detectives from the Arcadia Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team have taken over the investigation and are looking for the exact cause of the incident.

The identity of the dead person was not immediately known. The identity will only be released after the notification of the family members of the victim.

The circumstances of the crash has not been revealed by the authorities.
