Name released of Fall River Police officer facing charges after allegedly forcibly entering home

The name of a Fall River police officer who was arrested for trespassing and public intoxication after an incident at a local residence has been released.

Early Tuesday morning, a Fall River resident reported an unknown man banging on their door and asking for a woman by name. According to the Fall River Police Department, the man forcibly entered the home, continuing to inquire about the woman. After being told no one by that name lived there, he left on foot.

Police located the man, identified as a Fall River police officer, half a block away, displaying signs of alcohol intoxication.
