Metro Nashville Police Department details how a 16-year-old student at Nashville’s Pearl Cohn High School was arrested after threatening a mass shooting on Instagram. According to the aWSMV story, the student allegedly posted a “egregious threat to commit a mass shooting on Instagram,” which led to the arrest this morning.

The night before the arrest, the principal of the school received screenshots of the threatening communications. After being promptly identified as the account holder, the student was apprehended by the school’s Rapid School Safety Team. Upon his arrival the next day, he admitted to sending the threats and is currently facing charges of false reporting and making a threat of mass violence in Juvenile Court, as detailed in an article by FOX17news.
