Nashville Weather Advisory: Prepare for Dense Fog, Wind Gusts, and a Frosty Weekend Turn

Nashville’s National Weather Service is warning people to expect a mix of clouds and sun, along with some potentially dangerous fog, all week long. The warm daytime highs of the 50s are predicted to give way to cooler evening temperatures, with nightly lows dropping into the 30s. However, Western Middle Tennesseans are vigilant about more than simply the weather fluctuations between sweaters and jackets.

According to the NWS advisory, early risers on Wednesday were met with a fog that was thicker than a pot of oatmeal and visibility that was as low as 1/4 mile in some places.

The warning, which included several counties, including Davidson, Montgomery, and Stewart, advised commuters and early risers to exercise caution. However, the fog is not expected to persist for the entire week. With gusts “as high as 30 mph” expected to clear the skies and turn them gradually bright with a high of almost 59 today, forecasters predict a windy change.

With patchy frost perhaps developing on Friday and Saturday evenings after the early hours, the weekend is expected to take a cold turn. Gardeners, be careful to safeguard your delicate plants. Residents should prepare for “areas of frost before 7am” on Saturday, according to the NWS’s comprehensive forecast, to prevent any unpleasant surprises. By Sunday, when the high is largely sunny and close to 63 degrees, the sun should have entirely returned to its throne.

Mother Nature is a little unsure about next week’s weather forecast; Monday has a 30% chance of showers, and by evening, it’s expected to pour with a “Chance of precipitation is 60%,” according to the NWS. With highs reaching the upper 60s at the start of the week, the weather is expected to stay generally warm rain or shine. Therefore, you can probably leave the bulky coat at home, even though you might need to grab the umbrella.
