The National Coalition of 100 Black Women Inc. (NCBW), Queen City Metropolitan Chapter, and the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) are hosting a live discussion targeted specifically at the Mecklenburg community in an attempt to close the gap in health care disparities. A tele-town hall and fireside chat will be place on Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 6 to 7 p.m., to provide information and assist qualified persons with North Carolina Medicaid. The collaboration is an important step in helping those who have historically received less attention from the healthcare system.
LaQuana Palmer, MPA, Deputy Director, NC Medicaid Communications and Engagement; Bella-Giavanni Austin, President, NCBW Queen City Metropolitan Chapter; and Priyanka Priydrshni, Enrollment Coordinator at Charlotte Community Health Clinic, will be on the panel, according to an official announcement from NCDHHS. In order to directly affect eligible citizens of North Carolina by providing them with instant access to services they need and deserve, they plan to quickly distribute Medicaid information.
Medicaid gives people access to healthcare, often for the first time in years, and offers more than just health insurance. It also makes it possible for others to complete prescriptions that might have been put off because of lack of coverage or financial difficulties.
